8. Favorite indulgence and feelings surrounding indulging
FUGGIN CHOCOLATE. Dark chocolate, that is. Gwen’s idea of indulgence basically includes a truckload of ultra dark chocolate with some raspberries/pomegranate on the side. Though I imagine she also considers having a nice, long jog an indulgence, as well as a good night dancing. Seeing as a couple of her ~indulgences~ aren’t like, detrimental or anything, she really has no problem with them. On indulgences in general, she finds that most things are fine, so long as it’s not excessive. She definitely doesn’t sit down and gorge on chocolate every day or even every week.
9. Makeup?
Every now and then she takes the effort to use a little foundation and powder, and sometimes she goes all out and adds a little lipstick, maybe mascara, when she goes dancing or something, but typically she doesn’t bother. I mean, honestly, it’s not like she’s out to impress. She definitely never wears eyeliner, eye shadow or blush. Just really simple and light.
14. Physical abnormalities? (Both visible and not, including injuries/disabilities, long-term illnesses, food-intolerances, etc.)
Gwen is perfect, obviously. Um, I do imagine her as being like, mildly hypoglycemic, if that’s even possible for witches/wizards, but if nothing else her high metabolism has stuck with her since she was a kid and keeps her eating pretty astounding amounts of food. Which is catching up to her a bit now that she’s getting older, but if you comment on it she’ll cut you like the bitch you are.
29. Reaction to sudden intrapersonal disaster (eg close family member suddenly dies)
Immediate reactions include shock, numbness, confusion. Fun fact, she’s never actually lost anyone super close to her because she doesn’t let people super close. The nearest experience she has with this kind of thing is Annie’s death, but the reason that screwed her up so badly is because she feels like she was responsible. I imagine (and have carried out on Whazzit) that if John hadn’t been around for her after that, she never would have got her feelings out and would still be carrying it. As in, relatively frequent nightmares carrying it. If her mum or dad died, left on her own, she’d probably go give the other parental unit a hug and spend the day with them mostly in silence, then go about her business with it all buried way deep down. She’d be hurt, but we all know she’s not good with emotions. Her coming to terms with the fact that ~emotions are okay~ now makes things a little more difficult. If John’s available, she very likely goes seeking him out for for the sake of getting a great big John-boy bear hug and basically just to lean on someone who is physically stronger than her, because yeah, admittedly, he’s started to make her feel safe when she never knew she felt unsafe in the first place.
As a side-note, while the question isn’t so specific, if her mother died, she’d be a lot more hurt than she’d expect. Her mum kind of made her what she is, and she’d very likely come to terms all too late with the fact that she actually appreciated the ol’ woman. Like, she loves her dad, whether she admits it or not, but that she could hide because he wasn’t a big part of her life. Her mom would have a much more profound impact, and after she got over the shock/numbness, she might even *gasp* shed a few tears.
35. What makes them feel guilty?
As a Healer, the obvious answer is failing a patient. And if I’m honest, that’s more or less the extent of it - though she would feel incredibly guilty if she ever really hurt Simone, John or Celd.
43. Religion?
Gwen’s mother was very much Catholic. Gwendolyn is not. In fact, Gwen doesn’t give a lick whether there are higher powers or not, and if she burns in Hell for it so be it.
46. If they were to fall in love, who (or what) is their ideal?
You would ask this question.
She’s never had any intentions of falling in love, or even respected romantic love as an actual thing, but the people she likes are a challenge to her, both intellectually and in general, are typically a little rude but in the end respectful of her skills, talents, and the fact that she’s a woman, and they obviously have to be able to put up with her sick and twisted humour. As for lovers, they obviously have to be good in bed, fuggin rock hard abs are a no go because do you know how uncomfortable those things are?, and again, she likes a challenge. Honestly she’s quite fond of fighting for top position. Respectfully, of course. Finally, getting towards actual ~relationships~ she needs someone will be around, but won’t crowd her or be too domineering, and who can be stronger than her when she veers too far off the path or on the rare occasion that she just needs some stability in her life. Honestly, she’s a bit like a horse. Prove to her that you’re not afraid of her and can stand up to her in a fight without overstepping those invisible lines and no matter how much bigger or smarter or just plain better she fancies herself, you’ll get her respect. So in essence, John really is the best of all this. She really would prefer honesty, but when it comes down to it, that’s just one thing. He’s around when she needs him, including when she doesn’t want to think she does, he’s just as willful as she is, he doesn’t back down easily, he’s incredibly intelligent (and in a less scientific, more philosophical way that gives her some balance and some new ground), etc.
49. Is this person afraid of dying? Why or why not?
No. Everybody dies, and she sees no point whatsoever in fearing the inevitable. She’s actually quite good at just taking things as they come.
